Kitchen helper

Mary Brown’s Chicken and Taters is a Canadian fast-food restaurant with approximately 200 locations across Canada. Mary Brown’s Chicken is 100% Canadian owned and operated. We source our chicken and potatoes locally from Canadian farmers. We support the Canadian communities our stores call home. Due to expansion plan, we are looking for two kitchen helpers to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Assist in food preparation, such as cutting, marinating, and seasoning chicken

·         Operate kitchen equipment, including fryers, grills, and ovens, following safety guidelines

·         Ensures safe food storage and disposal

·         Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure efficient and timely service

·         Loading and unloading distribution and/or delivery carts and trays

·         Follow food safety and sanitation standards to maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen

·         Assist in kitchen operations including scheduled cleaning and sanitizing of appliances, counters, cupboards and drawers

·         Removes all trash and recyclable materials at the end of each shift

·         Adhere to all company policies and procedures

·         Performs other related assignments as required by managers.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience in a kitchen is an asset
• Working knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
• Readiness to work hard with a good attitude
• Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment and handle multiple tasks
• A team player
• Ability to stand for a long periods of time

·         Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
