Job Description

Position: Restaurant Assistant Manager

Salary: $27 per hour

Hours: 35 or 40 hours per week, which involves some night shift, weekends and holidays

Employment type:  full time, permanent

Location: 3309 Kingsway, Vancouver, BC V5R 5K6

We are now looking for a Restaurant Assistant Manager to assist in the management of the restaurant located at 3309 Kingsway, Vancouver, BC.



·                     Assist the Restaurant Manager to monitor and manage all areas of the operations during scheduled shifts which includes on the spot decision making, supporting the staff, full interaction with the guests, ensuring that the guests needs are our main focus while enforcing standards for personal performance

·                     Train and supervise staff members to ensure a high level of customer service and quality food preparation

·                     Assess staffing needs

·                     Assist in the purchasing, storage, preparation, handling and additionally serving of all food beverage products to customers

·                     Act as support system for all areas of the restaurant

·                     Assist in planning restaurant budget

·                     Ensure health and safety regulations are strictly followed by staff

·                     Ensure highest level of customer service. Manage customers’ expectations, handle and solve problems

·                     Attend weekly meetings with restaurant manager and general manager to review sales activities and suggest ways of increasing revenue

·                     Maintain a spotless restaurant at all times

·                     Relieve staff in case of emergencies

·                     Perform other related duties as required by the Management including assisting in functions and events



·                     Minimum College Diploma

·                     At least 1-year supervisory experience in food service management is required

·                     Strong customer service background and communication skills

·                     Possess a positive attitude and ethics

·                     Ability to manage a fast-paced, high volume, clean, customer-focused restaurant

·                     Strong time-management skills; ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize

·                     Willingness to work flexible hours including opening, closing, weekends and holidays
