Job Description

Virsa Fine Indian Cuisine is an Indian Fine Dining restaurant located at 5677 Victoria Avenue in Niagara Falls, Ontario. The restaurant opened in June 2016 and specializes in authentic Indian cuisine (North Indian, Punjab, Mughlai, Hakka style).

The restaurant is seeking to hire a restaurant supervisor. This is a full time, permanent position for 32-40 hours per week. The wage is $26.25 per hour. Completion of secondary school is required along with a minimum two years experience or equivalent in education.

Job duties are described below:

  • Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule the activities of staff who prepare, portion and serve food
  • Estimate and order ingredients and supplies required for meal preparation
  • Prepare food order summaries for chef according to requests from customers
  • Establish work schedules and procedures
  • Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage
  • Train staff in job duties, and sanitation and safety procedures
  • Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards
  • May participate in the selection of food service staff and assist in the development of policies, procedures and budgets
  • May plan menus and determine related food and labour costs

The restaurant is also seeking to hire a Food Service Supervisor (Kitchen Supervisor). This is a full time, permanent position for 32-40 hours per week. The wage is $26.25 per hour. Completion of secondary school is required. Minimum 3 years experience. Knowledge of Indian cuisine is an asset. Knowledge or experience in Curry and Tandoor is required.
