Salary: $20 per hour (median wage for this position is $19)

Terms of Employment: Permanent Full Time

Hours: 40 hours per week. Additional hours as may be necessary to complete duties, and may have to work on holidays, weekends, shift, day and night.

It began as a corner shop and expanded to become a giant international food group with more than 1200 locations, covering 31 provinces in China, and many other places in the United States, Canada, Dubai, Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong etc. In 2014, Liuyishou chose Greater Vancouver in Canada to serve as their North America headquarters and opened the first restaurant in Richmond, British Columbia. Liuyishou has now grown into a major player in North America Hot Pot market, with about 20 restaurants and hundreds of employees in North America.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive products for cutting and slicing, removing bones, sinews and fatty tissues
  • Cut large pieces of meat into smaller pieces per restaurant specifications
  • Measure and dump ingredients into hoppers of mixing and grinding machines
  • Inspect and store meat upon delivery and ensure meat quality
  • Cure, tenderize and preserve meats depending on the menu of the week
  • Rotates cut and boxed meat to ensure freshness
  • Stocks and arranges the Meat Cooler in accordance with approved food safety
  • Manage inventory, keep records of sales and determine the amount
  • Complies with all health and hygiene requirements under all food safety legislation
  • Assist with kitchen operations, including scheduled cleaning and sanitizing of appliances, counters, cupboards and drawers
  • Removes all trash and recyclable materials at the end of each shift
  • Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or by use of a hand truck
  • Performs other related assignments as required by the kitchen Lead or Kitchen Manager.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of secondary school
  • Experience with general kitchen techniques and equipment is required
  • Working knowledge of safety issues as food-borne illnesses, cross contamination risks and workplace safety standards
  • Readiness to work hard with a good attitude
  • Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Bilingual communication skills a plus
  • Ability to stand for a long periods of time
  • Some heavy lifting – 25 to 45 lbs
