Job Title: Mechanic, Truck
Nature of Employment: Permanent Full Time Position
Salary: $23.50 per hour for 37.5 hours/week. Overtime pay at 1.5 times regular rate of pay after 44 hours. May be required to work some weekends
Job duties:
- Perform routine maintenance on trucks, such as checking batteries, engine and changing oil to ensure proper vehicle running
- Inspect various parts or components of commercial truck-trailer systems including braking systems, wheel bearings, chassis, frame, cab, body and steering mechanism to ensure they are in proper condition to operate effectively
- Use different tools and equipment, such as pressure gauges, pneumatic wrenches, hoists and jacks to repair trucks while constantly utilizing safety precautions
- Measure truck emissions to ensure they are in proper limits
- Replace parts, bearings and gears along with the repair of vehicle cooling and heating systems
Language: English
Education: College/ CEGEP
Experience: 1 Year to less than 2 Years
Driver’s License required
