Job Description

E.F.C. Afro-Caribbean Inc. is a retail grocery store based in NE Calgary.  We are the only Cameroonian grocery store in Calgary serving the community with spices and grocery items imported from Cameroon.'

We are looking for a Grocery Store Supervisor experienced in our ethnic cuisine and culture to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis.

The successful candidate will work 40 hours per week, evenings and weekend shifts, at the E.F.C. Afro-Caribbean Inc. store located at: 3, 2235 30 Ave NE, Calgary, Alberta, T2E 7C7.'

Using knowledge of African/Cameroonian organic foods and different spices to train sales representatives on the various names and functions of each spice;
  • Updating displays and shelves of product and ensuring cleanliness of store;
  • Ability to supervise up to 4 people;
  • Assigning duties and preparing work schedules;
  • Resolving issues that may arise, including customer requests, complaints, and supply shortages;
  • Maintaining and ordering inventory;
  • Preparing reports regarding sales volumes, merchandising and personnel matters; and
  • May perform the same duties as workers supervised.'
  • Secondary (high school) graduate or equivalent experience;
  • Knowledge of West African and Cameroonian culture and cooking; and
  • Knowledge and experience with sp
