Hours per week: 40 hrs
Salary: $20/hr-$25/hr (depending on the experience)
Start Date: As Soon As Possible.
Education: Completion of Secondary School or equivalent
Language: English.
Experience: Minimum 3 years experience work in a commercial kitchen, with 1-2 years working as sous chef

Additional Qualifications: Background in cooking international or Mexican style dishes

Duties may include but are not limited to the following items:

  • Assign work stations to line cooks and other kitchen helps
  • Facilitate effective communication between kitchen and restaurant front serving staff
  • Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to line cooks and kitchen helps
  • Train Kitchen Staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
  • Help chef plan weekly special menus
  • Help chef with workload planning during the restaurant menu transition and seating area expansion, assist chef with incorporating Mexican or international style dishes into the menu
  • Prepare and cook meals or specialty foods
  • Prepare meals for customers with food allergies or intolerances
  • Assist chef and restaurant manager with records of food cost, consumption and supplies
  • Inspect kitchen and food services areas
  • Ensures cleanliness and hygiene is maintained in the various kitchen areas
