Full-time position with Paramount Fine Foods located at 2535 Appleby line, Burlington, ON, L7L 0B6. The candidate will be required to work 40-48 hours per week at the rate of $20.00 per hour. Duties will include: preparation of and cooking foods for customers; controlling food portions; managing kitchen operations; developing new recipes; estimating and maintaining food supplies; supervision and training of sous-chefs and kitchen staff.

Candidate requires 2-3 years of experience in cooking Middle Eastern cuisine, in particular, the cooking and preparation of specific Mediterranean appetizers (hot and cold), grilled products, dressings, and plating. The candidate must also have experience in the preparation of food in compliance with Halal requirements. We are seeking to fill this position immediately.

Skills Requirements:

2-3 years of experience Middle Eastern
cuisine, in particular, cooking and preparing specific Mediterranean appetizers (hot and
cold), grilled products, dressings, and plating dishes (Lebanese Mezza).

Ability to supervise between 5-10 people, fast-paced environment, work under pressure, deadlines, heavy lifting, physically demanding, attention to detail, sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling crouching.

Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory, prepare and cook food daily, prepare special requests from guests and functions. re-stock of food and kitchen supplies, prepare and cook meals and specialty foods as per standards, prepare dishes for customers who have food restrictions or allergies. Able to successfully train staff in preparation, cooking and proper food handling.

Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presenting food.

Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets.

Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff.

Education Requirements:

Secondary School graduation
